A great producer, a magic site, and a very smart year. Cork wet through, but all Ok. Goldkap here means it’s “more” than a standard Auslese classification. Deep but electric gold colour; quince, apricots, cinnamon, camphor, apple, honeysuckle…and blackcurrant. The palate is absolutely racy, unctuous, minerally and packed with honey, pear, spices, apple, stonefruit, tropical notes and hangs on mightily.  This wine is so fragrant, so complex, and so hedonistic that I cannot see an upside in waiting. This is very special (my only bottle alas). I tasted this wine over several nights, and kept raising the score!
